Born in 1996 in Hamburg, Anton Gerzenberg began to play the piano at the age of four. His teachers include Julia Suslin and Julia Botchkovskaia in Hamburg, Jan Jiracek von Arnim in Vienna and currently Pierre-Laurent Aimard in Cologne. In 2019 he became one of the founders of the New Music ensemble ÉRMA in Cologne, who played their first concert in close collaboration with Unsuk Chin. Anton appeared in chamber music with such musicians as Martha Argerich, Dora Schwarzberg and Alvise Vidolin as well as with various orchestras including the Taipeh Symphony Orchestra, Münchner Symphoniker, Hamburger Camerata, Musikkollegium Winterthur and Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich. He is also a frequent guest at festivals including the Progetto Martha Argerich in Lugano, the Klavierfestival Ruhr, the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, Accademia Chigiana in Siena and the Mozartfest Würzburg. In June 2021 Anton won the First Prize at the 15th Concours Géza Anda in Zurich, Switzerland.

Concours Géza Anda

Among the countless competitions, the Concours Géza Anda is a unique and extraordinary institution in international comparison – and this is not only due to the high-ranking jury, which is staffed with outstanding representatives of the music world. What is special about the Concours Géza Anda is above all that the representative act of the final concert and the considerable prize money are not enough. The Géza Anda Foundation commits itself to the winners to accompany them as a mentor for three years and, among other things, to provide performance opportunities.

Steinway Prizewinner Concerts

"Steinway Prizewinner Concerts" is a concert in which world-renowned piano company Steinway & Sons selects pianists from among the winners of international piano competitions to hold recitals and provide opportunities for performance. The Steinway Prizewinner Concerts, which began in 2007, was held at concert halls in eight countries around the world. A total of 30 performers had recitals during the 2016-2017 season. Since 2017, WCN is an official partner and in charge of the Korean performance of "Steinway Prizewinner Concerts in Korea."
